Local Prairie Plantings
When planning a roadside enhancement or gateway landscaping project, it is important to know the traits of the plant material that will be used.  Be sure to visit city, county and state parks in your area; many have recreated and restored prairies to view.  Prairie plantings can also be found at the following Iowa arboreta and public gardens:

Bickelhaupt Arboretum, Clinton
Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, Waterloo
Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Dubuque
Iowa Arboretum, Madrid
Reiman Gardens, Ames
